Currently, the Australian property market is experiencing a noticeable slowdown in transaction activity, driven by a combination of economic conditions and broader global influences.
As a result, there is a growing sense of uncertainty among both buyers and sellers, with many choosing to step back and “wait for the market to settle” before making any major decisions.
During my time working in real estate, I witnessed firsthand the stress and anxiety that often comes with purchasing property—particularly among young first-home buyers.
One of the most important lessons I learned is that education is critical. When buyers are properly informed about every stage of the property acquisition process, their confidence increases significantly, allowing them to make one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives with far greater clarity and certainty.
Key considerations such as finance options, liveability, long-term growth potential, deposits, conveyancing, building inspections, and engaging the right contractors are all essential components of a successful purchase. However, I was often surprised by how many young buyers were either unaware of, or had not fully considered, the level of due diligence required when entering the market.
For many young Australians—including myself—it is becoming increasingly difficult to gain a foothold in the property market. Conversations with friends, family, and prospective buyers made it clear to me that there is a real need for accessible, practical education to help people still achieve the Australian dream of owning a home.
